In a bid to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided, Qatar Care, in collaboration with the Hamad PNS Golden Catch team, recently organized a training session focusing on Medication Errors and Protocols, as well as Fall Precautions and Management. The event saw approximately 45 dedicated Qatar Care nursing staff in attendance, eager to expand their knowledge and refine their skills in these critical areas.

The training initiative began with a warm welcome from General Manager Rowena Dimpaso, setting the tone for an engaging and informative session. In the first session, Jonathan Medalla provided valuable insights into near misses and medication errors, shedding light on best practices and protocols to prevent such occurrences. Following Medalla’s presentation, Abdulkarim Agga took the stage to discuss near fall and fall incidents. His expertise in this area provided the audience with practical strategies to manage and mitigate the risks associated with falls, a crucial aspect of patient safety. Riza Mae Gerong, an esteemed nurse with extensive experience in critical care, then delved into the critical topic of proper reporting and OVA documentation in the event of incidents. Her expertise and practical guidance emphasized the importance of clear and accurate documentation in ensuring the safety of both healthcare professionals and clients.

The training session was characterized by its dynamic and interactive nature, with each speaker employing unique techniques to engage the audience. Case scenarios were presented, challenging the staff to think critically about incident management.

Before the session concluded, members of the Golden Catch team, Ms. Samantha and Ms. Katrina, elucidated the purpose of the Golden Catch initiative. They emphasized the vital role of a proactive approach in enhancing the overall quality of care for clients, underscoring the significance of vigilance in preventing incidents. Through this comprehensive training activity, Qatar Care aimed to instill a proactive reporting culture among its staff. The importance of meticulous documentation was a recurring theme, with the understanding that it serves as a safeguard for both healthcare professionals and clients.
