In pursuit of advancing healthcare standards, Qatar Care and Prime Care, in collaboration with the Hamad PNS Golden Catch team, recently convened its third training session. This session placed a spotlight on Medication Errors and Protocols, as well as Fall Precautions and Management. Approximately 36 dedicated nursing staff convened, demonstrating a keen interest in expanding their knowledge base and refining their skill sets.

The session commenced with a warm welcome from General Manager Rowena Dimpaso, setting a cordial atmosphere for the proceedings. Jonathan Medalla initiated the discussions, offering insights into near misses and medication errors, alongside practical strategies to mitigate such occurrences. Following Medalla’s presentation, Abdulkarim Agga took the platform, delving into near-fall and fall incidents with expertise. He imparted practical advice to mitigate risks associated with falls, highlighting their significance in patient safety. Subsequently, Riza Mae Gerong, an esteemed nurse renowned for her extensive critical care experience, addressed the critical topic of proper incident reporting and OVA documentation. Her emphasis on meticulous documentation underscored its pivotal role in ensuring the safety of healthcare professionals and clients alike.

The session fostered an engaging atmosphere, with active participation from all attendees. Case studies were presented to stimulate critical thinking among the participants.

Before concluding the session, Ms. Myra Aler from the Golden Catch team elucidated the overarching purpose of the initiative. They emphasized the proactive approach as fundamental to optimizing patient care, urging constant vigilance to prevent accidents. Qatar Care envisages that this training will instill a culture of proactive incident reporting among its staff, recognizing the paramount importance of accurate documentation for safeguarding all stakeholders.
